Before the potato was brought to Ireland wheaten bread was the staple food.
The government are encouraging the people to grow more wheat, because it is from the wheat that the flour is got. Also you are keeping your money at home, and you are giving employment to your own country men.
Long ago the people used set a lot of wheat, and they used grind their own flour.
We bake about two or three times a week.
