- The people in olden times had only two meals per day. These were, their breakfast and dinner. They had their breakfast at half past eight and their breakfast on Sunday at ten. They had their dinner at two o'clock.
The servant boys and girls used to milk the cows and feed the pigs before having food and the servant man used dig potatoes and pull turnips before eating anything.
Their breakfast consisted of potatoes, salt and milk.
Their dinner consisted of potatoes, milk and a little butter for those who could afford it. The people sat around a bare plank table with no tablecloth on it.
