- People used to eat three meals a day long ago. They used to eat stirrabout for breakfast and potatoes and sour milk for dinner and supper. They used to get up at about 6 o’clock and have about two or three ridges of potatoes dug before breakfast. They used to sit around in a ring on the floor. A meal bag was spread on the floor and the potatoes were spread on the meal bag. They used to eat oven bread and griddle bread. The oven used to placed on a hot fire and the cake inside in the oven.
