- The houses in olden times were made of clay. Now those huts have been replaced by lovely cement houses. The building of those huts only occupied a few hours. The mud walls were walked to make them firm.
When the walls were made beams of wood were thrown from wall to wall and then the cabin was thatched. Rushes and sedge obtained from the rivers were used for thatching.
In some of those houses there weren't any chimneys only holes for the smoke were made on the roofs.
