- There is a fort in Knocknacarton and one in Cloughprior. They are called rings. They are not in view of each other. They are circular in shape and there is a fence of earth around each. The Danes are supposed to have built them.
The owners of the land ploughed there forts and planted crops in them.
A long time ago there were thirty small men about three foot in height seen hurling in the field joining the fort in Cloughprior.
