    It was a custom with the farmers of those days to select a trustworthy friend and to him all the neighbouring farmers entrusted their money to be conveyed to a bank in Limerick, after the fairs or the harvesting.
    Cars or trains were unknown then and the person selected had to ride on horseback. He wore a wide loose cloak with large pokets to hold his precious burden. This man
