- A princess of the O'Meagher Clann was married to a Limerick Dane. Her relations were not pleased with this, but strange as it may seem, her marriage saved Roscrea on one occasion, from the ravages of the Danes.
The princess heard the Danes say, that they would attack the town of Roscrea. She sent a messengar immediately to tell the O'Meagher Clann, so that they would be ready for attack. The O'Meagher had his soldiers ready.
