    married are May and November and there are days of the week also which are counted most unlucky on which to get married. Those days are Thursday, Friday and Saturday as the old proverb says,
    Monday for health,
    Tuesday for wealth,
    Wednesday the best day of all,
    Thursday for losses
    Friday for crosses
    Saturday no luck atall
    The only custom which occurs in this place is on the first Sunday in Lent when Shrove is just over any singly boys or girls about twenty or more get streaks of chalk on their backs by some married man or woman.
