She was longing for the fine warm sunny days of summer when she could recruit her strength again. The end of March came and she was all but dead, but she knew that April would be fine and sunny. So when the last evening of March a coming to a close the old cow began to boast she had beaten March, and that now she would live for another year at least.March became very angry at this and she went to April and asked the loan of a few days so that she might put an end to the old Riabhach Cow. March got the days from April and she pelted rain and sleet and wind down on the old cow. The old cow was surprised at what was happening but battled on bravely for three days.
