They would make punch, then the priest would pass it around to the invited guests and congratulate the newly married couple. The parents of the bride would collect money from the guests to pay the priest. The dinner would be given in a barn or some other big house. A plate was placed on the centre of the table. And each person should leave some money on it for the cook. A boy usually has to take more money into a farm than a girl. No motors were used at weddings then.
