    the old hag struggling with a big barrel of wine. The giant told Jack to let off one dog to help her. Jack did so and they saw the old woman and the dog still struggling. Jack let off the other two. Then the old woman cast a spell over them and they could'nt stir. The giant barred the doors and windows and took down his club. "Jack," say's he "prepare for death." Jack asked him to let him play a tune and the giant said he would. When Jack started to play the giant began to dance around and to hit the bars with his club and the window flew open. The music released the dogs and they sprang in and killed the giant. Jack found the third princess in a room and Jack fell in love with her at once. She gave him a ring and said she would know him by it when he would come to the palace. When they were going along, the other two came behind Jack and threw him out and drove away. But the dogs came and pulled him to a well. He washed himself and started off. When he arrived at the palace he was all torn and dirty. He heard great singing and dancing inside. The guards would not let him in, but the young princess came out and saw the ring. She brought him in and the servants dressed him up. He looked like a prince then. The other two were to be married the next day and they were all at
