TAAFE'S CASTLEstands between Newry St. and the Carlingford Railway Station. It was built by Sir Nicholas Taafe in 1012. It is in much better state of repair than King John's Castle. It is very high, and the stairs to the upper rooms are still to be seen. A Tunnel leads to it from King John's Castle. The Key of the Castle can be had from Mr Larkin, the present owner of the property.
