The late Captain Hall of Co. Down was landlord of Cornamuckla long ago. He was very kind to the people who could not pay the rents at once. He would wait until the people would sell the cattle and they would pay the rents then.
The steward that Captain Hall had was called Nathaniel Atkins. He lived in the house down at the Ferry. Then when he died another man got his job and he was called Mr. Quinn. He had an office in Warrenpoint on the pier head. Then they made new arrangements and the people had to pay the rents every January. They had to pay it in the office. Nathaniel Atkins father had the job before him. If the people did not pay it on the time that he was allowed for that he would come to the house and sieze on everything(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
