Chin Cough:
1. Man married to woman of the same name have his parents, grandfather, himself and wife parents. He eats part of cut bread, gives remainder to sufferer to eat.
2. In Maghera chapel below Camaross is kept a Bishops skull. The priest has it in his care. When anyone gets the chin cough he sens to the priest for (a) the loan of the skull. When you get the skull you keep it for one day. You must put some water and holy water in it, and take three drinks of this water from the skull. I drank out of the skull myself to be cured of the chin cough.
Ordinary cold on chest
Get 2 ozs of sugar candy 2 lemons
1 stick of liquorise 1/4 lb of linseed
2lbs of brown sugar
Put all these into a saucepan and cover with over a pint of water. Put on to cook. Cook slowly until the liquid thickens often strained through a coarse strainer. Cool and take a few spoonfuls when the cough is troublesome(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
