  1. Thatching
Told by Mrs Patrick Lynch aged 42 years
    Clontyduffy, Mountnugent, Co. Cavan.
There once lived a man whose name was Dan Sheridan. He was known all over the country as "Dan the Thatcher".
He lived in a little house by himself in Clontyduffy. He was a great workman and everyone that had thatched houses employed him in the winter months so he was never short of work.
His principal implements were a thatching fork, a rake and a wooden hammer from early morning till late in the evening he was thatching, a very quick worker, he would thatch one side of a fairly small house in a few days.
