- There was a boy named Daly living in Ballycomoyle, parish of Castlepollard, Co. Westmeath, who was looking for cows one evening. He met a gentleman who asked him to go with him, he went and a fairy was left in his place. The fairy used to sit in the corner and would not eat or drink anything only when he would get the people of the house out, he would eat all in the house. The people could hardly know between him and their own son. The people used to come at night to look at (Dalys fairy) him and he said to them one night "are you coming to look at Dalys fairy. I will make an example of you on the Stonetown road. They brought the Priest and he said "you are there you devil." Then the Priest told them to throw him out. They left him out and he brought half of the dungheap with him going. Their own boy came to the window one night and he told them how they would get him back.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
