    Priests were going round administering Extreme Unetion to the people. Some of the people were not put in coffins but buried in trenches. All sheep died; all cows. The hens and pigs were killed.
    The old people say that the year before the Famine ('44) the potatoes were so plantiful that the people threw them out and made little of them.
    The Land Lords lived on Indian meal which was then brought for the first time from England to Ireland. Some people who were going to other countries died on the ship and were thrown out into the sea.
