    was pressed for his rent by his Land Lord. When going up Knockross hill half a mile north of Crookedwood just between the two gates he met a man who asked if the horse was for sale. On being told he was, the stranger offered him a price which the owner refused. The strange man then said, "You will take that price coming home."
    "Begorra," said the owner to himself, "he seems to think that he is the best buyer I will meet today." After being hours in the fair and not being asked to put a price on his horse he started for home and in the same place he met the strange man again who said, "You did not sell." "No," said the owner, "for no man seemed to see me," "No one did see you for the Magic Spell was put on you this morning. Will you give him to me now?" said the stranger. "I will," said the owner. "Come this way," said the stranger and leading through one of the gates he came suddenly to another gate with strange lights behind it. At the strangers knock the gate opened. They walked into a passage where there was a row of horses all with saddles and bridles on, and lying at each horse's head was a man asleep with his right hand holding a long sword. At the end of the row one man stood up and asked, "Is the time
