   When the thrush is heard singing all day, wet weather is believed to be coming. When the cormorant lights on a stone on the shore of a lake picking his wings warm weather can be expected. When there is going to be a period of stormy weather the swan flys high into the air then low and sometimes lights down and walks about. When the wild geese are seen flying high in flocks, cold, frosty weather is expected. The curlew cries very loudly when rainy weather is at hnad. Flocks of thrushes are to be seen flying towards the north when there is going to be thunder.
   The robin is believed to have got its red breast from the blood of our Saviour when he was trying to pull the nails from His Hands.
