    fire and continued to burn until the lime stones wre eburned into lime. This generally took four or five days. Lime was sold by the barrel to those who needed it.
    Houses and stables were generally lime washed on the inside and on the outside and a good deal of lime was used on the land.
    Builders used it for plastering and for building purposes. People often used these lime stones for making lime water. Spring water was boiled and poured on the lime stone.
    This was used as a drink.
