- The biggest feast we have is Christmas.
It falls on the 25th of December.
It is called Christmas because Jesus Christ was born
on that day in a stable outside Bethlehem.
The people put holly and ivy behind the pictures
and all the walls to decorate the house for
Christmas.
They make cakes and a plum pudding
to celebrate Christmas day.
They do have a turkey or
a goose for the Christmas dinner.
Nearly all people
go to town on Christmas Eve to buy presents
and Christmas cards to send to their friends.
Easter is the second biggest feast we have.
It is called Easter because it was on that day Our
Lord arose from the dead.
These people buy Easter eggs
on that day.
The next feast is Hallow Eve.
It falls on the 1st of November.
The people buy a brown
bag and whoever gets the ring they say he would
be married again that time next year.
The children have great sport on that night
eating nuts and peaches.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
