Ar an leathanach seo
- The food in olden days was very simple and nutritious. The people all sowed plenty of oats and potatoes. They got all the oats milled into meal.
Of this meal they made bread and porridge. They would have porridge in the morning and oaten bread and buttermilk for their breakfast. Only the father and mother in some families were able to get tea.
Potatoes and salt and milk was the dinner in many families.
Some people of means could afford to kill a pig or two in the year. People who had to work a distance from their own homes brought a square of oaten bread and a bottle of buttermilk for their meals. Some people used to catch(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
