1. Games I Play

   

   Roinn Roinn Postáil

   I play draughts, and snakes and ladders. We play draughts with twenty four men ; there are twelve white and twelve black men. We choose which colour we like and then we put the men down on the draught-board and we each move a man in turn and when we get our men from one side to the other side they are crowned and then they are called king's. A king can go backwards and forwards. A man cannot take a king, but a king can take a man. Usually when each player is left with one king the game is considered a drawn game.

   To play snakes and ladders a board, two buttons, a dice, and a shaker are needed. Each player has to throw the dice and turn up six before he can start. When the button is on a snake's tail the player must come down to the
