    good large potatoes for eating at dinner and the smaller ones for feeding pigs, fowl and calves.
    The principal potatoes sown in our field are Champions, British Queens, Irish Queens, Kerr Pinks and Shamrocks. The Champion is considered to be the best potato. It has not grown so well in this district the last years.
    In olden times potatoes were used instead of starch in this district.
