    before this one was built.
    Some of them used to bring little stools with them, and others used to have big stones, and leave them there at the old school.
    There was a night school at Irishtown conductedby a teacher named Allen, before the present Ballynacargy school was built. Mr Allen was kept in the farmers' houses round there, and received food and lodging from them in payment for his teaching.
