Ar an leathanach seo
- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)the neighbouring town or village and if a friend there had a public house a hale was made there and drinks all round. The fiddlers brought their fiddles and played along the way.
When the party arrived back the dinner was ready. Lashings and leavings of every thing and nobody was neglected or it was his or her own fault. Neighbours that could not come in the morning came in the evening. The music and dancing went on all evening and night. The bride and groom went off to the house of the groom but the guests remained behind enjoying themselves until morning.
The first Sunday bride and groom did not go to Mass. But the next Sunday "Showing off" Sunday the bride wore her wedding outfit and went in in great style to second mass. Exactly a month after the wedding the bride payed a visit to her parents home. Here she remained a few days. Her husband then came for her a party went along with them and there was a big "spree" in the brides new home. This was called the "dragging home".
