- When a man wishes to change his life and join the matromonial circle, he has to undergo a series of undertakings. First he sends a reliable man to the family, he wishes to select his bride, from to inform them of his intentions and to find out if he is welcome. If he gets a favourable reply a certain night is named to settle the match. The intended suitor usually brings a bottle of whiskey, as it generally runs into the small hours of the morning before an agreement is reached. The whole debate concerns the fortune of the bride. At interval the bottle is given around to give them courage. Then the day is named for the marriage. The wedding is given at the bride's home. When the marriage ceremony is over all invited guests spend a most enjoyable day and night. Then a host of young men arrive dressed in disguise to dance drink and make merry.
