- In the townland of Cann about half a mile south of Mount-Temple in a field owned by my father there is a well called Garret's well.As my great great grandfather was making a roadway through his land he came to a large rock which had to be blasted to be taken out of its place. He gave it a blow of a sledge and split it in two parts. Through the split a stream of water gushed forth. It is now a never failing spring well. Garret Ledwith was the man's name and the well is always called Garret's well.
