    1. On Easter Sunday people ate as many eggs as they were able to eat. Some people could eat six eggs. This custom was very much in use when the lenten fasts were very severe. The custom is now dying out.
    2. On Xmas Eve bread puddings were frequently made and eaten. Bread was graded ; sugar, spice, currants & milk were added. Then the mixture was put into a pie-dish. The pie dish was put into an oven beside the fire. Fire was put under and over the oven and left there till the pudding was cooked.
Potato cakes were often eaten on Xmas Eve. Potatoes were mashed, mixed with flour, baked on a griddle, eaten hot and spread with butter. Very delicious for tea.
    3. On Shrove Tuesday night pancakes used to be made ; so as to have a feast before the lenten fast began.
