- Long ago the old people looked upon alders as useful articles. What they used them for was feeding lambs. Before being used the inside part of it was cleaned out with a thin rod. When this was done a bottle was got and one end of the alder put into it so that the young lamb could get the milk through the alder.

- Long ago young boys used to have great sport catching birds. A trap called Cipin a Gala was used to trap them. Here is the way the trap was made. A sally was got and then the two ends of it were driven down into the ground. After that another one was got and put standing on the bent one. Then a basket was leaned over against the standing sally. When the bird would light on the bent sally it would fall on the bird and catch her.
