The Care of our Farm Animals
25th April, 1938. The names of our farm animals are the cow, the horse, sheep, and the pig. The names of the cows are the "Speckled Cow", the "Polly cow", the "May-Day cow", the Kerry cow, the "Horney cow", and the "White cow."
The cow-house is a long stone-walled house, roofer with galvenized iron. It is called the cowshed. The cows are tied with chains attached to stakes. Polly cows are tied with halters on their heads, as they would pull off the chains from their heads.
The stakes and halters are home-made and the chains are bought in the shops.
When we get Palm blessed on Palm Sunday we hang a branch in each out-house, but(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
