Food in Olden Times
12th May, 1938. Long ago the people had three meals in the day, breakfast, dinner, and supper.
They would work for two hours in the morning, before they would eat their breakfast, and they would have their dinner at one o'clock, and then their supper at five.
For their breakfast they would eat oaten bread, and butter, and potatoes and buttermilk for their dinner, and porridge and buttermilk for their supper.
People had not much meat long ago, because not many people were able to kill a pig, or to buy bacon, so they would eat watercress, and vegetables for their dinner on Sundays.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
