Eugene Gallagher Dalystown, Granard. - The name of the townland I live in is Dalystown which is in the parish of Abbeylara and about a mile from the town of Granard Co Longford and in it there are many interesting things to be seen.
The local monuments in this district are as follows.
About a half a mile from my house there is a large stone standing up it is about five foot high and three feet wide.
It is said that monks were buried there beside that stone.
It is standing in a field belonging to Patrick Cosgrove Dalystown, Granard Co Longford.
There is a story told about Dalystown baile ui dalaig or pairc na carraige or rock field as it was called in former(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
