- Travelling folk are still to be seen going from house to house in search of alms, and selling tin articles. Most of them live in caravans while others of them sleep in tents which the erect on the roadside. The people sometimes buy baisins porringers and other tin articles from them.The travelling folk generally call before fairs because they sell asses and ponies. These people are always welcome to our homes and people give them potatoes, flour, meal and other alms.Most of them come in families and the ones which travel this district are the(continues on next page)
