- John Corcoran's father had a cow that was overlooked. She wouldn't give milk, but would stand in the one place, and she shivering. His wife went to a priest (Fr Fitzpatrick, Newtownforbes) to get salt blessed for the cow. When the women went into the byre with the blessed salt, the cow ran to her and licked it off her hand. The man was standing in the door with a handful of clover. The cow snapped it out of his hand. Then she ran out to the field and started eating grass. She was alright ever after. John Corcoran (87 years) CamIf an animal of any kind is overlooked you should burn the Alphabet under its nose.
