- There used to be butter taken from a family in Freighmein (in the parish of Streete) They tried several times to get their butter back but they couldn't get it. At last they went to the curate, Father Kiernan. He went with them to the house and read for a long time. In the end he had to go round the byre on his knees. He told the people the people that their butter was taken in "the worst way". The butter was got back after that, but Father Kiernan (a big, strong man) never did a day's good and he died soon after.
