There lived a gallant sports man, his name I won't conceal
His kind and mild behaviour was well known by great and small
His name is William Stafford, he is the boy that leads them all
Over a quick set hedge or an eight-foot wall his equals can't be found
He cleared them all without a fall when (?) should go roundII
They started him in Piltown from that to (?)
From that to Carrigbyrne, before the chase did stop
They were all (?), it grieved their hearts full sore
To be conquered by young Stafford and he of the Milesian core
