   Tho' well they played the first half hour the second it was found
   When self-defence did there commence, the stars were seen to fall
   Aye, yes they were upon the ground more often than the ball.

   And when the game was over excitement was so high
   The ringing cheer for Ballyhogue it really rent the sky
   They were raised upon men's shoulders and greeted o'er and o'er
   For showing the pluck of Ballyhogue in Wexford Park once more

   Success attend you, Ballyhogue, I wish you soon again
   May victory shine till the end of time upon your gallant men
   And upon your noble chairman, who is much rejoiced to see
   Brave Laurence Murphy with his team, played round the hills of Bree
