    week in the summer and twice a week in the winter. We do have about ten pounds of butter in the summer, and about seven pounds from each churning in the winter. We churn on a Wednesday each week.

  2. There were all classes of churns long ago. There were dash churns and German patent with beaters in side of them. The dash churns were very handy. The churn that I saw the sides of it were round in shape. The lid was round with a hole in the middle and there was one handle on the lid. There was a piece of muslin all round the lid of the churn to keep the butter milk from coming up. The German churns were like a barrell and it used to be
