   A stable is a cement building in which are four or five stalls according to the number of horses that are kept. The fodder of horses is hay and oats. Horses should be shod at least four or five times a year, and the old shoes must be removed at different periods.
   The most famous horse I heard of is one from Birr called "Phreaney". His dam died when he was a foal, and he was reared a pet. How he got his name was, that he used to go into the kitchen of his Master's house and take anything he could get on the table. The servants called him "Phreaney" after a highway robber. He won many noted races at the Curragh and elsewhere.
   Farmers get frost nails into the shoes of their horses to keep them from slipping in frosty weather.
   When we are calling pigs we say "Murt, Murt". When we are calling sheep we say "ma, Ma". When we call goats we say "Gin, Gin". For hens we say "Chuck, Chuck". When setting eggs we get a box and put
