- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)place where the monastry stood is a well called St Cuddy's well. St Cuddy once blessed the wwll and said there would never be famine within three miles of the well.Tinkers were passing by one day and they washed their clothese in the well. When St Cuddy heard this he was angry and caused it to spring up in another place. It is said that one day St Cuddy left the monastry and went in search of a bird he heard singing in a wood nearby. He thought he had spent only a few hours in the search. To his surprise when he came back to the monastry was all in ruins. He was left it for one hundred years.
