- This well is situated near St Mogue's Cross at Clonmore and beside a little stream that flows under the road further on. The stump of a mountain ash stood over it until 1930 when it was blown down by a storm. The well gets its name from St Mogue( MoAedhóg) who founded a monastery in Clonmore towards the end of the sixth century. His festival falls on the 11th April but it is a strange fact that the Pattern which was formerly held at the well took place on 31st January, the festival day of St Mogue, Patron saint of the diocese of Ferns. Edward McDonald Clonmore now aged 89 years does not remember the Pattern being held but he remembers hearing his father speak of it being held in his young days. That would mean that the Pattern has not been held for well over one hundred years. There is no sign of the cloths and other votive offerings usually to be met with at a Blessed well. There is a little granite boulder, twenty-five(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
