  1. (continued from previous page)
His life as a drudge he spends
He has no thoughts for King nor Thrones
    Nor for Parasites and Peers
He's a mass of withered skin and bones
Who is bent with toil and years
The poorhouse van will hurry him off
To die in a poorhouse ward
He writhes with a weak consumptive cough
Till death snaps the living Chord
' Am and Irishman and it makes me proud
Though I had to tramp and beg
It's against the law, it is not allowed
    But Scotland's not Raheg.

  2. Poem
Down came the wedding party gleefully
Down by the shop where they bought all their needs as you will see
Whiskey and porter by the bottle and barrell
    Pork, sausages, hams and bacon
Till poor Tim had to tell them he could give them no more
On to Teapot Row they flew
Careless and heedless of mishaps and accidents too
On past the smokey little houses
