- There are two forges in the parish of Castletara. The smiths are John Brady and Patrick Cahill. The forge belonging to John Brady is situated in the village of Ballyhaise but Patrick Cahill's forge is situated at the Creamery about a quarter of a mile from the village. The first forge is situated near the roadside and the latter is situated on the river Annalee.
John Brady's forge has a plain double door. The roof is thatched and it has a small brick built chimney. Inside the door is a long bench on which he places his tools. On one side is the fire which is blown by a hand-pulled(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
