Ar an leathanach seo
- There are numerous forts in my district which are all called by the same name-fort. From the one nearest my home which is in the downland of Lisduff seven others can be seen. All these are like each other being circular in shape a fence of earth around them. This fence is covered with trees and aged old hawthorns which seemingly have grown there for years undisturbed.
In any of these forts in the district there are no entrance holes or any sign of underground passages but in one at Kevitt it is said that there is an entrance hole, I have not any reliable information but have heard that there is a stone built underground passage leading from that for to one some miles distant.
The fairies are supposed to live in a fort in Clonegonnel.
