  1. Young children never wore boots until they were well grown up summer or winter. Nothing was more common than youngsters going bare foot to school, what ever the weather.
    Some old people mostly old women wore there boots when the could not help it. They never more comfortable barefoot. It was usaly for girls and and women to walk barefoot to mass with there foot wear under there arms. They would sit down beside the chapel and put on boots before going in. Those boots which were made locally were very strong and would almost last a life time. Wearing bad fitting boots is bad for the feet and causes corns and bunions and in growing toe nails hardship which those old people surely missed. No man in this country go barefoot only in summer when the weather is warm. The people go barefoot making mud turf and very cool and comfortable it is. They are very fresh after.
