As Peter sat on a marble stone
Our Lord came to him all alone
What ails thee Peter that makes you weep
My Lord Jesus the pain of the teeth
Arise up Peter, thou shalt be healed
And those that say these words
Three times by day, and three times by night
Shall never feel the pain of the tooth-ache.
    (3) Once Jesus, riding on an ass, was fleeing from the Jews who were in pursuit of him. The Blessed Virgin was with him. Jesus slipped from the ass to the ground and sprained His foot. The Blessed Virgin made the cure of the sprain and healed Jesus. The people of this district in Lavey, who have the cure of the sprain say the following words when making the cure:-
Jesus sat on an ass's colt
His foot slipped and down He sat
Late to late and joint to joint
    Everything right and holy
Just as it ought to be
I toucheth and the Lord healeth
