- The wild birds in our district are swans, seagulls, wild ducks and wild geese. The birds that migrate are the cuckoo, larks, corncrake and swallows. In our district the corncrake builds her nest on the ground, the swallow in the eave of the houses, the robin in the ditch, the crow and magpie in the treetops, the wren in the wall of an old house, the thrush in the bushes and the blackbird in the bushes also. The cuckoo builds no nest but she lays her eggs in another bird's nest. The(continues on next page)
