and is supposed to bring good luck.
St. Brigid's Cross is put over the door every 1st February, this cross is made of straw and rushes.
They get two sticks and form a Cross of them, they first wind a half an inch of rushes round the cross and then the straw and the rushes again
A piece of palm is also put hanging in the byre on Palm Sunday.
It is also said that it is unlucky to have chichens coming out on Whit Sunday. some people always keep the shells that the chickens come out of for a month until they get strong, it is supposed that the chickens would never get strong if you did not keep the egg.
It is never supposed to be lucky to set eggs on Holy Thursday Good Friday and Easter Saturday. A drop of Holy Water is sprinkled on the eggs before setting this is also supposed to bring luck.
