Their deaths caused many a wail,
And for the same his life he lost
In the precincts of Armagh jail
When the Jury found him guilty
The Judge to him did say
"On the 13th day of January
    Your life must pass away
Pray to your God for mercy
In hopes your soul to save
    And may the Lord forgive,
When you're lying in your grave."
    Then pointing towards his Lordship
    The prisoner he did say
"Your own soul needs more prayers than mine
    God pity you to-day."
But the wardens pulled him soon away,
    And out of public sight,
To a dreary cell in Armagh jail
They brought him on that night.
All you who have a noble mind
Pray Keep it if you can
And don't forget the laws of God,
    Likewise the laws of man
    For when the deed's committed
